About the club
Lundin Golf Club sits on the Fife coast at Lundin Links, on the A915 immediately east of Leven and about twelve miles from St Andrews. Leven station reopened in 2024, which has made the stretch of coast far easier to reach by train than it was for the previous half-century.
The club dates from 1868 and the ground it plays over began life as a single long links shared with Leven Golfing Society, laid out by Old Tom Morris. The two clubs eventually divided it down the middle, each taking nine holes, and James Braid designed the replacement nine for Lundin in 1908. The result is a course of three distinct moods: the first five holes are classic seaside links alongside the beach, the middle stretch runs inland across the line of a long-disused railway and feels almost parkland, and the last four return to the shore.
It plays to a par 71 of 6,341 yards. The 14th, Perfection, is a long par three from an elevated tee with views across the Firth of Forth to the Lothian coast. Lundin is a regular Open Championship Final Qualifying venue whenever the Open is at St Andrews.
