Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information the PING Junior Golf Tour collects when you use this website or enter our events, why we collect it, and what your rights are. Your privacy matters to us, and we only ever use your information in the ways set out here.
Last updated 10 September 2026 · The data controller is Northern Junior Golf Tour Ltd, trading as PING Junior Golf Tour.

Who we are

PING Junior Golf Tour is the trading name of Northern Junior Golf Tour Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 12393070. Our registered office is 31 Oakfields, Hunwick, Crook, County Durham, DL15 0GA. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, which means we are responsible for how it is stored and used. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Northern Junior Golf Tour Ltd.

We may update this policy from time to time by changing this page. Please check back now and again to make sure you are happy with any changes.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the tour, we may collect:

  • First name and surname
  • Date of birth
  • Contact details, including email address, telephone number and postal address
  • Golf details, such as home club, WHS Handicap Index and membership number
  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Order and delivery details if you buy from our shop. We do not store card details – payments are handled by our payment provider
  • Anything else you give us in surveys, competitions or correspondence

If any of your details change – a new email address, phone number, home address or name – please let us know so we can keep our records accurate. We may contact you from time to time to check that what we hold is up to date.

Children’s information

Players are children

Our players are aged 6 to 21, so much of the information we hold is about children. A parent or guardian creates the player’s profile and enters events on their behalf, and we treat that as their consent to us holding the player’s details for the purposes below. We collect only what we need to run the tour safely and fairly.

  • Player names, divisions, scores and Order of Merit standings are published on this website and on Golf Genius as part of the competition. That is what a scoreboard is, and it is inherent in entering.
  • Photographs and video are taken at events for our website, social channels and partners. If you would rather your child was not photographed, tell the Tournament Director at registration.
  • We do not send marketing to children. Newsletters go to the parent or guardian’s email address, and only if they have opted in.

How we use it

We use your information to run the tour and to give you a better service. In particular:

  • To take event entries and membership, produce tee times, run live scoring, publish results and the Order of Merit, and award prizes and Grand Final places
  • To contact you about events you have entered – tee times, results, weather decisions and changes on the day
  • To process and deliver shop orders and handle returns
  • To keep players safe, in line with our safeguarding policy
  • For internal record keeping, and to improve our events, products and services
  • If you have opted in to our newsletter, to send you news about events, membership, offers and other things we think you will find interesting. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK data protection law: performing our contract with you when you enter an event, join as a member or buy from the shop; our legitimate interests in running and promoting the tour; our legal obligations, including safeguarding; and your consent for marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing. We do share it with the services we use to run the tour:

  • Golf Genius, which runs our entries, tee times, live scoring, results and Order of Merit. When you create a player profile you are also covered by Golf Genius’s own privacy policy
  • Our payment provider, for shop purchases
  • Our email provider, for newsletters and event emails
  • Host golf clubs, who receive the tee sheet for the day
  • The police, local authorities or a national governing body where we are required to, or where a safeguarding concern makes it necessary

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Player profiles and results are kept while the player is eligible to compete and for our records of past seasons. Shop order records are kept for as long as accounting rules require. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. If you would like your information removed sooner, ask us – see your rights below.

Keeping it secure

We are committed to keeping your information secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to safeguard the information we collect online.
