Reports to: Tour Founder / Tour Director
Contract type: Self-employed, contract only (not employed/PAYE)
Scope: Up to 10 events per year initially, with scope to grow
Day rate: £500 per event
Location: South of England (home-based, with regional travel to event venues)
Role Overview
The PING Junior Golf Tour is seeking a passionate and organised Event Manager to lead the delivery of junior golf events across the South of England. Engaged on a self-employed contract basis, this role is central to expanding the Tour’s presence in the region – building relationships with clubs, recruiting players and ensuring events run smoothly and to a high standard. Initially covering up to 10 events per year, with scope to grow, this role is ideal for someone who wants the flexibility of contract work combined with a meaningful role in junior golf development.
Key Responsibilities
Event Delivery
- Plan, schedule and run a calendar of up to 10 junior tour events per year across the South of England
- Liaise with host golf clubs on logistics, course setup and tee-time scheduling
- Oversee on-the-day operations: registration, starting, scoring, prize-giving
- Ensure events run safely, on time and in line with Tour standards and PING brand guidelines
Club & Venue Relationships
- Identify and secure suitable host venues across the region
- Build and maintain strong relationships with club professionals, managers and committees
- Negotiate rates and terms for venue hire
Player Recruitment & Engagement
- Promote the Tour to junior golfers, parents and clubs across the South of England
- Manage entries, communications and player queries for regional events
- Build a strong, growing base of regular players
- Act as a key point of contact for players and parents in the region
Marketing & Promotion
- Capture and share event content (photos, results, highlights) to support Tour-wide promotion
Administration & Reporting
- Manage the event on the day via Golf Genius (full training will be provided)
- Report regularly to the Tour Founder/Director on regional performance, attendance and growth opportunities
Brand & Sponsor Representation
- Represent PING and Tour sponsors professionally at all events
- Ensure sponsor branding and obligations are met at regional events
- Identify potential local partnership opportunities
Contract Terms
- Engagement: Self-employed contractor — responsible for own tax, National Insurance and insurance arrangements
- Day rate: £500 per event day
- Volume: Up to 10 events in the first year, reviewed with scope to increase
- Travel and any agreed expenses to be confirmed separately
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of and passion for junior golf
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Existing relationships with golf clubs in the South of England (advantageous)
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple events
- Confident representing a global brand
- Access to own transport for regional travel
- Comfortable operating as a self-employed contractor
